Diablo 3 Patch 2.1 PTR Hype is in full Swing!

Blizzard has released the first piece of concrete information as to what we can expect in patch 2.1 and to start things off with a bang you can expect a PTR hopefully within the month. Until then we are going to get into the new information surrounding Diablo 3 Patch 2.1

Seasons!

Seasons will be a new addition to the Diablo 3 endgame once Patch 2.1 has been released. The concept is not new to the Diablo franchise and familiar to anyone who has played Diablo 2 for more than a year. You will start each season with a fresh characters, fresh stash, and level 1 crafting merchants. Basically you start over, its like a game wipe, but there will still be the "normal" zone that all characters are dumped into after seasons end.

Why the hell would I want to start over again? NEW LEGENDARIES!

Well for starters you can have a shot at some fancy new legendaries. Blizzard has not released any information on numbers or what types, but that there will be season exclusive legendaries. Once a season ends those legendaries will be carried over into the normal Diablo 3. Also there will be Legendary Gems that can be placed in Neck and Rings and are upgrade able by completing more Greater Rifts.

Want to get into some awesome greater rifts?

Maybe if you tell me what the hell that is! Formerly referred to as Teird Rifts, a Greater Rift is going to be a rift that is more structured than the current random rifts you have been running, and will be a place for you to truly test your characters strength and match it up against that of your friends and enemies. There will be leader boards for solo, and groups of all sizes, allowing you to create the perfect comp with your friends and still feel competitive.
To open a Greater Rift you will need a Greater Rift Keystone will can be found on Rift bosses in normal rifts. When you are in a group with your friends currently each player will need their own Greater Rift Keystone in order to join in on the fun.

Changes to Healing and Dexterity!

First off apparently its not good for us to rely on health globes so heavily in later Greater Rifts, there fore they are changing globes to grant less healing but buffing life regeneration on gear to compensate.
Dexterity will no long give dodge, instead it will be granting armor much like strength does. A few talents will have to be re-adjusted but in the end real damage mitigation is always better than not dodging and being dead.

New playable zone in Rifts: The Cesspools!

The Cesspools are a dank underworld feeling area that did not make it into the original game, however after a bit of polishing they will be ready for your enjoyment in patch 2.1 rifts.

Auction House last call for Alcohol!

The Auction House will be officially closing all doors for the last time, no long will you be able to collect any gold or items that you may have left in your completion tabs from days of old. All items left in the auction house tabs after June 24th will be permanently deleted.
